Winter Container Gardening

We recently planted some of our favorite Veggies for winter in our Garden containers.

We used old stock tanks from the family farm and filled them with a mix of mushroom compost and organic soil. We have four total in our Cottage Garden.

I’ve even purchased new stock tanks and dulled the shine by using the toilet bowl cleaner method I learned about from Boxwood Avenue. We also drilled holes into the bottoms of them for drainage.

I love that Colli loves to help me water the Plants when he comes over. He has his own little watering can that is just his size.

These carrots were from seeds we planted months ago… I’m excited to see if they are big enough to eat now. We are first timers growing something from seed.

If you live in Florida, Here is a great guide as to what plants and seeds grow best depending on the month. More info Here.
We have planted Collard Greens, Brussel sprouts, cauliflower and lettuce. We also will be planting onions in another planter we have.

Are you growing a winter Garden this year?
