Homemade Biscuits and gravy

Every now and then I like to make Biscuits and Gravy for Supper. We like to call Breakfast for Supper, “Bupper” in our home thanks to my daughter coining the phrase.

My Nana taught me how to make her sausage gravy years ago and it’s so delicious and easy to assemble with very few ingredients.

I prefer to make my biscuits homemade to avoid preservatives but premade biscuits could also be used in a pinch.

I like to use THIS All purpose flour that is organic and Unbleached for the biscuits.

I love to use THESE nesting bowls to mix my ingredients in.
***To make homemade Buttermilk: Add 4 1/2 teaspoons of Vinegar to a measuring cup and add whole milk up to the one cup line.***

I Bake the biscuits in one of my FAVORITE cast iron pans. Tip: if you don’t have a biscuit cutter use a mason jar as an alternative. Make sure to flour the opening and do not twist the jar when you cut into the biscuits, twisting prevents them from fully rising.
