Week in Review

Todd and I headed to Neptune Beach with our bikes for the day. The weather was beautiful and it was so nice to see so many people out enjoying themselves.

The Beach was full of people enjoying the warm weather. We were told that a lot of the folks up North are coming to Florida to take advantage of the fact that we have less restrictions. I’ve never been so happy to live in This State as I have been this past year. My heart goes out to so many people who are still having to endure lockdowns and such.

People always ask us if we get tired riding bikes all day, but honestly, we ride… then stop to eat, ride …then stop to get a drink, ride …then stop and get a coffee. We basically just cruise since that’s what our bikes were built for. It’s the best part of our week and we both always look so forward to it.

How cute is this little Beach cottage? After I took the picture, I realized it looked like a face. Love that aged green paint on the facade.

The azaleas are in full bloom around here and are absolutely beautiful. Everywhere you go there are large clusters of bright pink flowers. I loved the subtle color of these particular azaleas, so I had to snap a pic.

Our loropetalum at the side door is blooming like crazy (btw…this is a great landscape hedge to have) and our pear trees have sprouted white flowers on their branches. Goodness I love this time of year.

Since the weather was in the eighties last week, Colli got to play in the sprinklers in the garden. You can see the new growth of the Mexican heather coming back in the beds. The lantana is also reappearing.

Colli and I blew bubbles on the porch and watched the ants carry random potato chips on their back across the patio (it’s amazing how much weight those little guys can carry).

I’ve been sprucing up the back porch and replacing some of the ferns that got damaged by the frost. I also have a lot of pressure washing to do on the patio. I will share more of the updates of back porch on another posts. We are currently looking for a water fountain to help drown out the sound of the interstate. They’ve cut down so many trees around us that now we hear it more than ever, so our goal this weekend is to find something that will help.

Well that’s what my week consisted of besides working a bit. I’m working on a chicken pot pie recipe to share with you… it is so easy and delicious and Todd said it’s the Best one he’s ever had 🙌.
Hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing weekend.
Hugs,

❤️
